Details →La Mesa is denser and older than our East County base, and the fencing challenge there is usually access rather than acreage. Craftsman and mid-century homes on compact lots mean narrow side yards, established landscaping to protect, and fence lines that back directly onto a neighbor's yard. We install wood, vinyl, iron, and chain link in La Mesa, and we do a lot of gates — because on a small lot, the gate is the part you use every single day.
Side yards three or four feet wide leave little room to maneuver panels or a post auger, so some La Mesa work is hand-dug and carried in. Mature trees and irrigation lines sit close to fence lines and have to be worked around carefully. La Mesa's hillier pockets, particularly around Mount Helix, add grade to the equation. Being closer to the coast, humidity is a bit higher and salt air is more of a factor for untreated wood than it is inland.

Yes, and it is common work for us. Tight side yards usually mean hand-digging posts and carrying panels through rather than bringing equipment in. It takes longer than an open back yard, so we account for the access when we quote.
Ornamental iron or tubular steel. The panels are visually open so you keep sightlines and the yard does not feel boxed in, while still enclosing the property. Where you want some cover as well, privacy mesh or screening can be added behind the panel.
Yes. Established plantings, mature trees, and irrigation lines near the fence line get worked around. Point them out during the estimate and we will plan post placement so we are not cutting through roots or drip lines.
About 15 minutes southwest from our Santee yard. Call or send the details and we will schedule a measure.
