Why do gates fail before the rest of the fence?
Because a gate is the only moving part. It carries its whole weight on two or three hinge points and gets swung, leaned on, and slammed daily. When a gate sags it is almost always the post, the hinge hardware, or a frame that was not built square — not the fence itself.
How wide can a drive gate be?
Wide double gates are routine work, particularly on rural Lakeside properties. The wider the leaf, the deeper the posts and the heavier the hardware needs to be. We size both to the actual gate weight rather than using a standard kit and hoping.
Do you install hand railing separately from fencing?
Yes. We install hand railing on steps, walkways, and raised patios and decks, in materials that match or complement the surrounding fence.
Can you add an automatic opener?
Discuss it with us during the estimate. What matters structurally is that the gate, posts, and hardware are built to handle powered operation, so it is far better to plan for it before the gate is built than to retrofit a gate that was not sized for it.
